Livesport — 20 Years

Twenty years of getting you to the game.
20 March 2006 — 20 March 2026
Livesport in numbers
It started differently.
Timeline — 2006 to 2025
20 years of Livesport
Match is about to start.

Livesport founded
Spring 2006. Two people, one shared idea: build the best live scores service in the world. Livesport s.r.o. is registered on March 20th. Less than three weeks later, Livesport.cz goes live — and shortly after, the global version launches. The original name to forget: SportLiveScore.com. The one to remember: FlashScore.com.
Year two: Twelve countries, one and a half million people
Twelve new local sites launch across Europe — MisMarcadores.com in Spain, Rezultati.com in Croatia, eScore.gr in Greece, to name just a few. Most are now Flashscore. By November: 1.5 million monthly users.
The squad is growing
Flashscore was never the only idea — the ambition was always bigger than one product. EuroFotbal.cz had been running since 2007, and now TenisPortal.cz launches. OddsPortal.com would follow in October — a betting odds comparison platform covering markets across Europe.
Central database architecture is completed.

The engine is built
DataCore — Livesport’s central database architecture — is ready. It’s the invisible infrastructure that everything will eventually run on. Users never see it. They feel it every time a score updates in under a second.
Monthly unique visitors. 109 million page views. One in 841 people on the planet are landing on some of our websites every month.
Live Centre is... live!
Match statistics, live text commentary, and visualised lineups in the match details are taken for granted today. Back in 2010, they were a game-changing addition that we brought to matches from major football competitions under the name Live Centre.

That’s one small step for the app, one giant leap for Flashscore.
First step on mobile

2010: iPhone is three years old, most sports websites are still built for desktop. Livesport launches flashscore.mobi — not a native app, but a full mobile version of FlashScore designed for the small screen.
The first step on a journey that would eventually put Flashscore in almost 190+ million pockets (and counting).

Fastest growing tech company in the Czech Republic
Deloitte Technology Fast 50, main category: Livesport is #1 in the Czech Republic, #2 in the entire CEE region. The year before, we were a Rising Star. Now we’re at the very top.

Never miss a score
Get live scores, standings, brackets, and stats instantly with Livesport.
In your pocket
After more than a year of preparation, the first native Livesport app launches on iOS. It’s no longer a website you visit – it’s something always at your fingertips. Android follows three months later. By 2026: 190 million Flashscore app downloads. It started here.

Monthly users, for the first time. We like big milestones, and this one is big indeed.
The World’s #1
Eight years after our founding, we are the most visited live scores service on the planet.

First ever campaign
Die hard fan and his patient — really, really, really patient — girlfriend. Instant classic.
Monthly users. A new record. The number 100 million looms on the horizon.

A new home
After 18 months of watching our new headquarters being built from the offices across the street, the team moves in. Livesport has been growing fast and needed a building that grows with it. Aspira Business Centre is the new home we were looking for.
Petr Čech plays for Livesport
We have always grown through the product. In 2019, for the first time, we chose to tell our story through an ambassador. Petr Čech — the Premier League’s goalkeeping legend and a success story in his own right — was the perfect match.
...98, 99, 100!
We call ourselves Livesporters – and now there are more than 100 of us. By 2026: 300+.
March 2020 — COVID-19
Match suspended
Sport stops, just like the rest of the world. For weeks, we have almost nothing to deliver to our users. However, our team builds, prepares, and waits. When sport is back, we are ready. Some companies don’t survive 2020. Livesport comes out stronger.
The 100 million barrier everyone had been watching for 15 years — crossed for the first time in April 2021. By October: 104.2 million.
Media house era begins
Our Digital Content Department is founded — and starts building Livesport’s own editorial voice right away. Today: 21+ million monthly Flashscore News users. 100+ million audio commentary plays in a year. 730+ episodes of the Livesport Daily podcast. We’ve always felt that live scores are the fastest possible news content. The multimedia and data context we now add to them is what makes us a comprehensive media house.

Our new ambassador
With the launch of new identity, we have unveiled our new ambassador — Petra Kvitová. A Wimbledon winner and one of the best Czech tennis players of all time, she starred in our first campaigns under the new slogan — Game changing moments.
New face
Livesport, and its flagship product Flashscore, got a new identity. For the first time, Flashscore’s character is defined in three words: Instant. Reliable. Personal. It’s a complete visual overhaul. Not a refresh – a new era.
The FIFA World Cup? The whole world is watching – and a messive number of fans rely on Flashscore. A new monthly record: 116 million users. The number that had seemed distant for years is now in the past.

The biggest signing in club history
BeSoccer — a Spanish football platform with 20+ million users and 200+ million app downloads — joins the Livesport group. The largest acquisition in the company’s history. Livesport is no longer primarily Czech. It is a multi-brand, multi-market sports information group.
Favourite matches, teams and players!
We built Follow Player so fans never have to miss a moment from their favourite athletes. Up to 100 players, instant notifications on goals, lineups, ratings and more – by the end of 2025, a total of 3 million people had added at least one player to their Favourites!

Soccerway joins the group
Another acquisition, another big football name. The portfolio expands.
155,885,279
For the first time, Livesport breaks 150 million monthly users milestone. Twenty years in, the ambition has never been higher.
Closing
Delivering all the important sports information as it happens.
Twenty years in. The ambition has never been higher.
